i didn't hear CTTS in it, really. if anything with screamed vocals could be compared to CTTS, then i'd say Charles Bronson and Spazz are emo.

Mauro 07-01-2007 06:02 PM

whatever, you haven't sense of humor..

but don't say that they play pop rock please..

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-01-2007 06:07 PM

CTTS being similar to Alesana is not a matter of humor.

CTTS is serious ****ing business.

sleepy jack 07-01-2007 06:10 PM

They aren't emo at all, I really don't hear any elements other than the screaming and thats hardly an emo thing, you hear it in metal, punk, shit even folk. The guitars are like light metal riffs, and the rest of the instruments just sound Baysideish, who are a pop-rock band. Really its like Bayside with screaming and more metal influences. They aren't emo, they're pop-rock with some metalcore elements.

Mauro 07-01-2007 06:22 PM

ok, mr knowitall

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-01-2007 06:24 PM

You asked, asshole.

Circle Takes the Square is emo because they fit the definition of emo, which I don't think I need to retype, they're more progressive than most but point remains. Plus they don't sound like Alesana at all, so I really don't know why you keep comparing them maybe if it was Saetia that would be better because they have more similarities but still not many at all.

Mauro 07-01-2007 07:14 PM

i'm not comparing them, i just did a joke because the screams of both bands sounds similar to me, it's not big deal.. but i think that alesana have many emo's influences just like CTTS does..

sleepy jack 07-01-2007 07:15 PM

Get your ears checked.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-01-2007 07:34 PM

Don't even bother dude.

I'm not the one who thinks CTTS and Alesana have similar screams.

Mauro 07-01-2007 08:04 PM

Okay, well then at least keep in mind that few people are going to respect you if you go around insisting Alesana has many emo influences.

Alexander the Grape 07-25-2007 09:36 PM

omg I'm know I'm about a month late but.... Alesana like CTTS? WTF? I just listened to them, and they are ****ty generic metalcore with girly vocals and horrible screams.

I find it extremely offensive that they list themselves as Screamo/Emo on their myspace.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 07-27-2007 09:36 AM

I saw Alesana played at Warped Tour the other day and they were baaaad.

The vocalist doesn't scream. He shrieks with a voice effect to make everything sound ridiculously monotonous.

EDIT: I cleared my cookies and I'm back. Yay.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-31-2007 12:34 AM

^I heard the vocals while I was elsewhere and didn't mind them. I was a bit disgusted with myself when I wandered over to their set and found out it was them.

sleepy jack 07-31-2007 12:44 AM

Dave Grohl is cool

"I have a funny relationship with emo," he said. "I'm from Washington, D.C., and in the mid-'80s, the hardcore scene changed from what it was — Bad Brains and Minor Threat and the Dead Kennedys and MDC — to a bunch of new bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace, which Ian MacKaye was the singer for. Everyone started labeling it 'emo-core.' So I went to Rites of Spring's first show, and it was a revelation. I'd never heard anything like it, and it was a really emotional experience. But in D.C., we all hated that 'emo-core' tag."
