Greenday will never turn emo. Period

As for the album I haven't listened to it yet so I can't really say anthing. Is it mostly pop-punk?

nah it actually has quite alot of substance. If you can be arsed try downloading 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' by them. Its quite good.
