I like, I like.
Kinda fun, kinda unique, kinda awesome.

Nice, nice.

alliteration 10-29-2007 01:12 PM

pretty sure my band is doing a split with these guys. I absolutely love them, more screamo bands should do stuff like this, instead of playing stupid bull**** octave chords over and over.

who's your band?

alliteration 10-29-2007 06:14 PM

I think someone here started a thread about my band a long time ago. I found that pretty interesting, because I swear no one cares about us. at any rate:

myspace.com/ariadnesthread

and no, we're not a Saetia rip-off.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 10-29-2007 06:20 PM

oh yeah, I listened to you guys from a thread in some group on facebook and downloaded the uncle tony demo.

didn't you used to be acoustic guitars and a drum kit or something?

or am I thinking of someone else..?

nah, thats us. we actually never were an acoustic band, we just came up with 4 acoustic songs in 2 hours and decided to record them...somehow thats all people remember us for. and we're that "band" that uses a drum machine, as well. pretty much everyone seems to think its because we think its cool or groundbreaking. we dont. its because there are literally no people here who play drums, or that even want to learn, or that even have a DIY mindset in any way. we just never let that stand in the way. we have an ep coming out soon as well. i think its a bit better than the demo.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 10-30-2007 05:47 PM

that sucks about the drummer. not that drum machines are terrible, i don't mind them at all.

i liked the demo, it was fun.

tyrannobear 11-06-2007 10:05 PM

Holy ****. I'm in this band.

Maxim, you're an *******. Next time I see you, I'm murdering you with a hug.

Funny thing, the guys from Allegory (Cheer Up!) live less than 4 miles away. Something in the water maybe?

Trauma 11-07-2007 09:57 PM

Haha this is funny.
MB is the new SLSK, where emo band members converse with each other!

To alliteration, I didn't know you were in Ariadne's Thread!
Like a week ago I said, "There's no screamo scene in Michigan, it sucks" and someone else said, "Well there's Letters In Binary and Ariadne's Thread".
Only listened to your music a couple times but kind of *cough* assumed you were a Saetia rip-off.

Charlotte is a little far but hot damn, I feel like I need to see you now!
Especially for this "drum kit" and guitar thing, lack of drummers is so true, and so aggravating, I was about to hook up a screamo project revolving around a drum kit a few months ago. EMPATHY! AHH!!

qft

I hope this place doesn't pick it up too. Racial slurs can get annoying, especially with a first name like Julio.

awesome! where do you live? we are actually playing a show tomorrow in Lansing, you should come out and hang with us, its looking like a lot of friends will be there, and we'll pack this tiny basement and make it awesome. But yeah, I think most people get the idea we are a Saetia rip-off, which isnt true (I still wouldnt mind being able to have some of their talent) but oh well. I guess that happens when you choose a band name that most people in this scene only know of because of Saetia, not Greek mythology.

Funny thing, too....I've been talking to Julio a bit these past couple of weeks, and then he shows up here. Boy do I love Pinball...such a good band.

Trauma 11-08-2007 07:01 PM

I live in Belleville, which is about 25 minutes outside Detroit, 10 outside Metro Airport.
I can't make it up to Lansing for tomorrow night but can pretty much promise you that I will come to one of your shows.
There is no screamo scene in Michigan whatsoever so it's very cool that you guys are collabarating with the very few screamo bands that exist in this state.
It's especially admirable that you don't even have a drummer and can still manage to make good music.
My name is Jake by the way.

Understandable. I graduated from U of M, so I know where Belleville is, and its a little bit of a drive. We're really good friends with both Men as Trees and Letters In Binary, and its looking like all 3 of us are going to be playing some shows together in the future, so keep an eye out for that, there are no people in MI that care about screamo, so its awesome to meet at least someone who enjoys it, and we'd love to meet some more people who are actually into it. and yeah...the drummer issue is lame, we just to a point where we had so much music written that we didnt want not having a drummer to hold us back from getting it out there and playing, hence our situation. Keep in touch with us, Jake.

That means you have to get yourself in the other three some how. Only then, will you rule supreme.

tyrannobear 11-09-2007 03:19 PM

Hah, funny thing about that.

We're still in the process of recording. we kind of did most of the work at once, and then left it off for a couple of weeks..or months, I forget. I'll put the finished stuff in a zip and post it soon. I was supposed to do that for Ben from Ariadne's Thread, but I got lazy with school. I'll try to get around to it some time this weekend, so keep badgering me, repeatedly. Spam my messages too. I'm one of those kinds of folks:/

Fine, Julio. You got it, I'm sending you mass messages via myspace as we speak. Get ready for the ****storm.

anticipation 11-10-2007 11:35 AM

since all of our scenes suck,

who's up for renting a vw bus and moving to antioch, california?

tyrannobear 11-10-2007 12:24 PM

It would be fun to take over a small town, and then rename it "Skramzville" and then have Skram as our town mascot. Then, we can eventually invite skram girls, even though they don't exist.

Yes

tyrannobear 11-12-2007 06:38 PM

OKAY SO
Songs are up on purevolume
/thegreatestpinballonearth

Uhmmm, those are the most complete songs we have I think.

We're going to have to rerecord Rock Your Body after realizing we subconsciously ripped off Russian Circle, but I think it's still good.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

alliteration 11-13-2007 01:24 AM

the songs sound ****ing awesome...I'm so glad I don't have to be on myspace all the time listening to them. The Greatest Pinball On Earth! is da man. seriously.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 11-13-2007 05:39 PM

I like it a lot! Is there a story behind the name? I find it kinda confusing.
