It's not stupid, though.

If you had read the beginning of the thread...

If you refuse to listen to what is considered real emo, then stop posting here - post in the pop/rock sections.

EDIT:

Besides the few odd posts here and there, thanks for posting guys. Hopefully we can make this forum a great place to post.

My name is Julio Felix. Yes, along with Sarah Wesley, I have that whole double first name deal going on. I usually go by the nickname Jay, since its simple and not as hispanic sounding as Julio. I live in Orlando, Fl. If you're ever in Orlando for some diabolical reason (theme parks, sunny skies, suicide) let me know.

I am 18 and 11/12ths. I think? I turn 19 on the 26th of January
I listen to a lot of music. I love love love love love Post-Rock, its where I earned my chops all through out high school. Took a high school music theory class, and hooked the teacher on lots of awesome godspeed ****.
Growing up, I listened to a mixture of salsa, hip hop, punk, and metal. It was weird, but it made me into who I am now.

I don't really know what I listen to now. Lots of Kind Of Like Spitting. Always. As I said, post rock like crazy, and most definitely emo.
I don't even remember my first outing with emo. Its one of those things I really try hard to think of, but I don't remember. It may have been my ex-girlfriend who sent me Saetia's Venus and Bacchus, or it may have been some Cap'n Jazz wayy earlier. I don't really care though. I love all music. This is really long, but its late and I have nothing better to do.

I play drums in this band called The Greatest Pinball On Earth. There's lots of tapping going on. I usually have a hard time coming up with something to play. I've been playing for like..6 years now, off and on. I really suck at it though, so I haven't really progressed much. All my drummer friends practice 3 hours a day and stuff, but I'm too busy playing City Of Heroes because I'm a comic geek. I might be starting an emo band with some friends and we're going northward for spring break towards maryland, pennsylvania, etc. If so, play with us/give us a place to sleep/lets hang out:]

I like jokes, and trying to tell them. I like girls, and trying to get them. I like drawing, and trying to paint them. I like my new puppies I got. One's named Brooklyn, because my sister is an idiot. The other is unnamed because no one can agree on something good enough for him. I saw this girl at the mall that I recognised from a porno. Is that good or bad?

I should stop this now.

tl;dr
my name is julio, and i'm carrying the wheel.

that was quite the description, haha. I like your band! You should up the ante and head northward, as in Canada.

What can I say, I get bored:/
Seeing as the other two guys graduate high school in 08, Canada might be a destination for our summer tour, if it does go through.

Well, if it does, you know where you're going to stop on your way up there.

I guess I can introduce myself...My name is Ben, and I am 22 years old and hail from the economically depressed area known as Lansing, Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan this past spring with a degree in History, which has, so far, done absolutely nothing for me.

Musically speaking, I have been listening to screamo and emo for about 6-7 years, since I remember listening to Saetia, Usurp Synapse, and Joshua Fit For Battle back when I was a freshman in high school...which was like 2001. It seems like its been a really long time, but in reality, its gone by really quick. It always seems like I just picked this stuff up, since I still listen to the same bands, but I guess when we reflect on certain aspects of our lives, they all seem to turn out that way. When I'm not listening to screamo, I listen to a lot of Bossa Nova, Flamenco, old school hardcore and punk, and technical metalcore. Anyhow, as some of you might know, I play in a band called Ariadne's Thread, and currently we are working on a split with Julio's band, The Greatest Pissball On Earth! which should hopefully be out in the coming months. We recorded an EP back in September, which still has yet to see the light of day...but it will soon, I promise. I think thats pretty much it.

you could promote your band in the promotion forum if you want people to know more about your band.

but no mp3 links or email links allowed.

City of Heroes looked interesting, but I don't do MMO's. Is it worth it?

I am heavily biased, so I would say yes.
If you have a lot of free time and don't mind spending 15 a month, then yes. Otherwise, probably not.

My name is Brent (not Alexander, I got that from an otterpop). I'm from Wyoming, although I now go to the University of Oregon. Right now I'm back home for winter break and so I decided I might stop by and say hi to my old friends at MB, since I've been so busy with school the last few months.

I started listening to emo about a year and a half ago (CTTS, not surprisingly), when I still thought that emotionally-inclined metalcore was screamo. Somehow I found out about other real screamo, and I found this site while looking for a link to I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism in Your Yearbook's demo. My interests include reading, writing, guitar, vidya gaems, etc. I want to start a skramz band in Eugene, but I haven't found anyone yet so I've just been trying to write songs by myself lately.

My name is Jake. I'm 17 years old and live not too far from Ben in another economically depressed area known as Belleville, MI (although I'm originally from Windsor, Ontario).
I first listened to screamo when I joined this website~3yearsago and got hooked on it pretty bad.
The first screamo band I heard were I Would, etc. and never did I get the chance to hear them play.
Like everyone else who posted in this I'm trying to start some band, any band, to no avail.
I plan on going to Eastern Michigan University later this year, and since it's almost statistically impossible to not get a job after getting a four year degree, I'm probably going to major in the uselessness that is philosophy.
Music is my favourite but there's too many hours to major in that.
I would love to learn how to play the viola.
Recently I have stopped watching pornography.
It would be nice if I could see Ariadne's Thread in concert.
I've always thought it would be the coolest thing to meet someone from this site, because I'm a nerd.
