So can anyone recommend any good bands to check out? either emo or screamo, i'm open to anything really.

I have stuff from these bands:

1000 Travels Of Jawaharlal
Ampere
A Day In Black And White
Boys Life
Bright Calm Blue
Christie Front Drive
Circle Takes The Square
City Of Carterpillar
Dag Nasty
Drive Liek Jehu
Envy
Funeral Diner
Groundwork
Hot Cross
Indian Summer
La Quiete
Mineral
Orchid
Pg. 99
Promise Ring
Rites Of Spring
Saetia
Seeing Means More

Anyone similiar to these would work :)

ProggyMan 05-18-2008 08:31 PM

Portraits Past and Sunny Day Real Estate are always good places to start.

Alfred 05-18-2008 08:41 PM

Texas Is The Reason is another one.

xcult_classicx 05-18-2008 09:11 PM

try listening to Caitlyn Bailey if you're a metalcore fan transitioning into screamo sensibilities.

Alfred 05-18-2008 09:16 PM

^Agreed.

sleepy jack 05-18-2008 09:26 PM

Texas is the Reason is the definition of mediocre and if he's heard Mineral, Christie Front Drive and Promise Ring he's heard Sunny Day Real Estate. Also they're called Portraits OF Past. This is why people who don't know anything about emo should not be running around giving recommendations.

Anyway I suggest: Spectres, The Kidcrash, Bells on Trike, Suis La Lune, Histories (formerly With Horses in Her Eyes), State Route 522, Montcalm, Navio Forge, Et Tu Brute, Moss Icon, Cease Upon the Capitol, Don Martin 3, Frail, Gospel, and Amanda Woodward.

ProggyMan 05-18-2008 09:28 PM

I apologize.

Alfred 05-18-2008 09:31 PM

Me as well.

ProggyMan 05-18-2008 11:08 PM

Go bait people somewhere else.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-18-2008 11:11 PM

go pretend to know like you know a genre somewhere else you fucking clown

ProggyMan 05-18-2008 11:14 PM

How is naming two bands I like pretending to know a genre?

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-18-2008 11:21 PM

don't give me that bull ****, you said they were good places to start, implying that you've listened to the genre enough to give a good idea of what's good to start off with and what isn't

ProggyMan 05-18-2008 11:21 PM

Lol, way to read into casual comments to much. Who made you the psycho-analyst?

xcult_classicx 05-19-2008 05:57 AM

hey, what if mac took up ****loads of freudian theory? now, seriously. if you're new to emo, start with the basics. go listen to Moss Icon, Indian Summer, Julia, Plunger, Portraits Of Past and Policy Of Three. that oughtta work before you get into the late-90s stuff.

mevsthesky 05-19-2008 09:31 AM
