the only "emo" ive heard is dashboard, FFAF, Brand New and TBS. i can quite safely say i hate all 4 of those bands but i cant say i hate emo because i havent heard enough.

Is Scared of Chakka emo? i mean they are kinda whiney, but if they are, then they will probably be one of the only emo bands i can honestly say i like, if they are not considered emo, then well, ive wasted your time.

its probably the singing that can turn a person on or away from emo. i really dont know what emo means but im tryin to get into some of it just cause i like listening to different kinds of music. I will say dashboard and brand new suck. I like chemical romance, coheed and cambria(forget how to spell it), and the used. Fall out boy has gotten my attention too.

Who cares? If people don't know what "real emo" is. Dude seriously...it's like people like music...they didn't start liking it because it was a certain genre! yeah...I'm done

I used to think I knew what emo was.

Then I realised I apparently didn't.

Then I realised I didn't care. I feel better for it.

Most people have to associate themselves with a type of music and call it their own so they get mad when other people try to get into it. But to me there is really only music I like and music I dont like.

I agree. People put music into genres so that they can define themselves to a certain group. Music is either good/bad or it doesn't move me either way.

I like all types of music but i guess you could say "emo" is my favorite, but whats it matter if someones emo or doesnt know what it means? Im about far as from emo as it gets, im the surfy jock type but i enjoy it just as much as you or anybody else. Stop crying about people taking over your music its not yours just because you listened to it first or you dress or act a certain way. Its open to everyone, just be happy that something you are or like is getting more attention.
