I actually listen to a bit of everything, here's my list I have compiled

(* means one of my top five)

*The Doors
*SOAD
*Yeah Yeah Yeahs
*Jimi Hendrix
*Nirvana
The Velvet Underground
Led Zeppelin
Bob Marley
The Killers
Beck
Peter Tosh
Steel Pulse
Scarface
Ill Bill
Serj Tankian
Paramore (I know, I am ashamed as well, but I haven't listened to them lately)
Howlin Wolf
Jefferson Airplane
Cream
The Beatles (Rubber Soul and onward)
Slayer (only occasionally though)
Rage Against the Machine
Primus

How's that list for ya? :tramp:

Yep, it looks like a pretty diverse list, a lot of classic rock, lol. But a good list nonetheless.

What's wrong with classic rock? To me The Doors, Jimi, and The Vlevet Underground don't sound dated at all

Dr.Seussicide 09-05-2009 09:28 AM

I never said anything was wrong with the Classic Rock, just that they seem to predominate your list is all, lol. It's good music anyways, I've just weaned off of it in recent times.

A bunch of those bands I haven't listened to in ages, like Cream, and Jefferson Airplane

What does "Emo" even refer to anymore? Nowadays when i hear people call something emo it is usually deathcore bands like Job for a Cowboy. I have heard nothing about whiny bands that i would have associated with emo, and there are no "emo kids" at my school...

Zen 09-06-2009 09:09 AM

The term "emo" sucks ass for the most part.

bardonodude 09-06-2009 10:38 AM

emo is a bastardized term that hasnt been used correctly since mainstream record labels used it to market the generic bands they put out.

has anyone ever listened to Grade before? They kind of started the whole neo-emo thing but did it pretty sweet. i know a lot of people call scenesters emo, gah.

alliteration 09-06-2009 11:59 AM

yeah, well you're emo.
