Now that I think about it that would make a great/typical name for an emo/post-rock band.
There use to be a thread with mbers bands but I can't find so I'm making another. And I don't really write emo songs but that is an Ettil Vyre/Tipping Canoe record I'm holding. |

You can click on the circle with the triangle inside it from the player at the top to download each track or you can scroll to the bottom and click each track but i'll zip it up and upload it to make things easy.

Space is the Place on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads This isn't with a band but some of the songs were played with one last summer and we're getting back together this summer. Some tracks are just loops I thought sounded good. A few songs need vocals added to them and there's a bunch I'm working on. |

A demo I recorded in high school as well as a Flatt and Scruggs and a Sleepytime Trio cover, which I guess is the most relevant to this forum. To swim/Catie: Mount Eerie was one of the best shows I've been too. Good stuff. |

I'm a sucker for lofi so I doubt that even if I easily could that I would put the vocals in the foreground. I hope to use something that lets me record two separate tracks simultaneously in the near future. But freebase mastered my first effort, which was super rad of him, which kind of solves this problem:

couldn't get to it. But if you want to know a really good and cheap lo-fi set up for exactly what you're doing then read up. Go to your local game store. Buy two usb mics (Rock Band or Guitar Hero work great, I have a generic Konami) should cost you about 20 dollars (try not to pay more than 10 bucks a piece).
Buy or build (steel rods and a paper towel tube work well) two mic stands. One for your guitar and one for your vocals. If you have a PC (mac works too it's just trickier), plug the two mics into the respective usb ports and they'll install the drivers they need automatically. Get the Acoustica Mixcraft demo (works forever, just create a new account on your computer when the trial expires) and arm both usb ports to record. Works with audicy too I think. Probably works with Garage Band, etc. BAM. A bonified redneck/hipster/lo-fi recording set up ready to go. |
I really like your voice and guitar playing, it's really warm and soothing. Kind of reminds me of Clyde Petersen's voice, and that makes me really happy. Excellent stuff.

across the sky is it any wonder you're so often on my mind but truth be told i mostly day dream about riding bikes and hopping trains and climbing trees and sailing away hardly ever about falling in love with you but sometimes i do but i make the worst impressions and i make the worst decisions and i get stuck on the s's so self conscience of what everyone will think so i don't do anything A Million Pieces ________________ if you don't come home in a million pieces i just might be the happiest person that you'd ever seen if the sky don't fall right before us all i just might have to jump for joy because its the little things its the space in between the bicyle wheel that spins round and round till the street lights come on and we have to go home its a wonder we made it out without and from and i don't know anyone but right the windows are rolled down and my feet are on the dash the music is real soft and im having these really cheesy super epic thoughts there is a warmth inside my chest that can't be reproduced by alcohol or sex i could drive home for the rest of my life because the last i want to do is climb up the stairs fall into bed wake up in a town i don't really love kudzu wish __________ kudzu swallowed the old abandoned house down the road that no one takes so no one sees it anyway but me and i was thinking it's everything we ever wanted to be, beautiful in our demise sure the flames will rise high and fast and be a sight to see but what are you left with and who did you impress these empty downtown buildings whose outlines vaguely touch sky are being smothered by flashing lights and peoples need to buy what are there for what are they good for but to windows out one by one get lost ________ lying on our backs staring at the clouds wondering if there's anybody looking down fascinated by the shapes on the ground i want to get lost in these woods but you and i both know that that's not possible if you walk for long enough you will end up in someone's backyard or another parking lot they're paving over our memories what's good for most must be good for me lying on our backs staring at the ceiling wondering if these dots were motivated if they could come together form a picture be something useful i want to get lost in myself concrete ________ (segue from Kicking and Screaming) everybody everywhere wants to be immortal hardly ever in
