To CanwllCorfe:

Caravels
La Dispute
Joshua Fit For Battle
Moldar
Saetia
Lumberlung
Joyce Manor(only the demo though)

There's loads more but if you want a taster of these guys look for CAvis3208 on youtube, he films all the bands similar to Touche Amore and such. He has an amzing collection of live footage.

To rotts:

Cat on Form
Bucket Full of Teeth
Combatwoundedveteren

Quite abrasive stuff

I like Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, Cap'n Jazz, Algernon Cadwallader, Snowing, La Dispute, Touche Amore, and Jawbox.

Any suggestions?

some I imagine you have heard, but some albums:

Slint - Spiderland
Rodan - Rusty
June of 44 - Four Great Points
Embrace - Embrace
Chavez - Ride the Fader
Bastro - Diablo Guapo
Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy

These albums have been some of my favorites lately.

I'm not even sure if Escape The Fate, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, etc. Is considered screamo anymore, considering the music I've heard from this thread. :o

It may owe to the original wave of screamo, but i find most of that stuff is far removed from it.

Emo and Screamo are both styles now that have gotten kinda bad names, people write off great bands they have not even heard cause they think Screamo is bands you mentioned, and Emo is stuff like Dashboard Confessional.

I used to be wanting to yell at people for that, now I just say, if they don't wanna listen to great bands because of an association with hot topic trends of today, they are not worth taking the time to educate. Their loss.
