This was my big issue with ATDI for a long time. I've come around since, but it's probably my least favourite part of the whole portrait (when he's not screaming, at least).

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. The screaming's the part I like.

All I can think right now is really this band is in the same genre as Slint?

Not really. Slint had their roots in post-hardcore, but on Spiderland their sound was evolved far beyond it. What the two bands have in common is not really to do with post-hardcore itself: weird guitars and quiet-loud dynamics.

How about you do us a favor and not speak ill of ATDI anymore. In fact, just leave, and never come back to this thread.

That's a fact, I only listen exclusively from 2000 to present day. It's a bad habit but I don't plan on quitting anytime soon.

Oh please I did the whole older music thing for years, found recordings from 2000 upwards much more satisfying. So yes son, my taste is very well "developed".

It's not an "older music" thing

All music within the last 60 years is basically modern music the arbitrary 00's cut off is questionable

I suppose you have a point? But the fact that my taste in music is questionable because I prefer a certain era in music, which also includes the nineties for the most part, is baffling. My taste is rock solid, certainly better than the average music goer.
