Default Outsider Musicians

Daniel Johnston
Y. Bhekhirst

and thousands of others. i assume the alternative form is the based place to discuss these geuinely alternative artists who lack all the irony and sarcasm that can be found in bands trying to be alternative. Most of therse people cant help but be original, as they cant conform even when they try

i find the shaggs and daniel johnston music makes me at least happy when i listen to it if not all out overjoyed to point of peeing myself

I know Jandek and The Shaggs. Jandek releases all his stuff from his own label/website... it's ok, but he puts out so much that it's impossible to keep up.

The Shaggs are a must for EVERYONE'S collection. Philosophy of the World is their album to get and the are from the 60's. The only 'oldie' music i listen to on any kind of regular basis. Just go get this now!!! I won't ruin why it's so good... Frank Zappa famously said this was the 3rd best album ever....
