Default I'm going to kill myself

if people keep ignoring my threads.

Just kidding, that's only happened a couple times.

But to the point- I just purchased Neu!'s debut album on vinyl, and I am sitting here, listening to it, and coming to the realization that these krauts really had it going on!

So yeah. Neu!. Krautrock. A lot like Kraftwerk except maybe even more minimalistic. They sound a bit more like a metronome than Can, but that does set them apart, in fact their music is pretty hypnotic and... spacey... I can't really describe it. Imagine a solid drum beat, with a solid unwavering bassline, and then just a fleeting guitar either soloing or playing variations of a single note, with waves of synth gently layered on top of it... and that's Neu!

I guess it's probably not for everyone. But it's certainly doing it for me.

Here's some streaming audio if you want to hear for yourself

And here's a huge image of the cover of the album I got, which I feel represents the style of music quite well:

I got it on vinyl. That would require a lot of work.

I have two of their albums. It's pretty good stuff.

I like it probably just because I could see someone writing it. I like to pick things apart and try to figure out how they got put together. It's something I could see myself putting together whether it was done that way or not.

...Bill if you're still interested I could upload an album.

I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.
