That's the very reason I always got so bored of Oasis... I always knew exactly what I was going to get...

For their earlier work, yes. Recently, i think they have changed (all be it very little). However i still prefer Oasis. Never really got into Blur.. maybe it was from growing up in the late '90's. I really should give Blur a second chance. Any suggestions of where to start?

I agree that they have changed a little recently but not to any great extent. And by recently I mean very recently, as in Dig Out Your Soul. It's still an Oasis album, it still feels like every other Oasis album and its not exactly groundbreaking but it has a groove, its psychedelic, Andy Bell was given a little more responsbility which is always a good thing and whereas Oasis have typically been a band who have written songs on an electric or an acoustic guitar and the final product has never really developed any further than that this record has a heavier use of keyboards/mellotron/electronics etc. For a start I really don't think Oasis have ever produced another song that sounds like Falling Down. It just has more balls than the last 2 or 3 Oasis records combined.

On the Blur thing.. I listened.. I just can't get into them. I can recognise the talent, but it just isn't my music to be honest.

aand i mean't the DOYS. I dont much like Don't Believe the Truth anyway. In my opinion, it was an all time low for them.

I didnt think it was as bad as Heathen Chemistry.

I really oughtta hear Dig Out Your Soul before I throw the good ol' Oasis never changes around like i have been, just to be fair - I am only going by what I read in reviews about the album, but i have heard at least every other Oasis album up to their previous one....

Look their not terrible albums, it's just that they are becoming predictable, in the same way as, say, AC/DC have become...

... You know exactly what formula their albums are going to to be composed of...

I hear that and you are right sir, there is no doubt. Oasis still used that same formula for most of the tracks on DOYS. If you've heard the singles you will realise that. But as an album DOYS does offer slight variation on what they have produced since Be Here Now, say what you want about that album and of course its all down to the sheer level of substances in their systems but as it was produced in a haze of cocaine it had an edge that wasnt there in Whats The Story. DOYS surprised me, I had expected another Heathen Chemistry or Dont Believe The Truth but its a much, much better record.

If you do check it out, just dont expect anything groundbreaking and you may be pleasantly surprised.
