Ha-ha.

But to be honest Ive missed Jay Reatard TWICE, Vivian Girls, and Dan Deacon recently, so Grizzly Bear barely makes up for all of that.

i saw them last night and was completely shocked how great they were live. I was expecting them to be good, but not one of the ten best live shows I have seen and that is saying a lot considering who I have seen. I was a fan before but now I might become even more engrossed by them.

This album is an absolute landmark. I swear. It's like alien music. Absolutely sublime.

I absolutely love the harmonizing background vocals throughout the album.

I've been putting off listening to Veckatimest. It took me for ever to start to like Yellow House and I still don't care for Horn of Plenty but I've heard Two Weeks and Cheerleader and I think they're great songs. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint...

Personally I cannot see that this is anything less than the best art rock record in 5 years.

That being said, what is amazing is how it is definitely "art rock" but would be still be palatable to anyone who likes music. I have played this album for people who listen to country and they like it. Seriously a very broad appeal.

No sh1t. I played it to my mom. All she listens to is Billy Joel and Barry Manilow. Even SHE liked this album.

btw, whoever compared this brilliance to the extreme mediocrity and mundanity of Fleet Foxes needs to undergo disciplinary proceedings. Seriously...

While I LOVE the Fleet Foxes, I understand what you are saying. The two are nothing alike. I guess the only comparison would be having good harmonies. Other than that, they are miles apart in sound.

YouTube - Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks (music video in HD) Veckatimest out now

I just saw this video last week. i have not heard much else of their music, but I think the lead singer has a remarkably smooth voice, and the harmonies in this song are perfect.

The video is oddly entertaining as well, despite it being a bunch of guys simply chilling(and exploding?) in a church.
