41. OOIOO - KMS
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=L27YQ92X

So crazy only the Japanese could pull it off. According to Windows Media Player, this is World music, but if World music means taking jazz, abrasive avant-rock, African tribal music and flinging them all haphazardly to see what happens, then damn I want to listen to more World music.

Seriously, worth a listen. The album that this came off of (Taiga) is pretty dense and I'm still having a hard time getting to the bottom of it, but this is a pretty good accessible entrance point.

40. Joanna Newsom - Cosmia
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=LCUZF2D8

My personal favorite off of Joanna Newsom's new album Ys. Features Joanna playing the harp backed by restrained orchestra accompaniment. Some people get put of by her voice, I think her style of singing is what makes the record really great, sure it's kind of crooning but I think all in all it works well. I guess you'd call this "indie pop" or something, though it seems to me to be a bit more than that. Will probably be appreciated by fans of the Decemberists and such, but worth checking out by everybody.

39. Stereolab - Interlock
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=HT2QA1ZH

I don't think this was technically first released in 2006, I think it made an appearance on an EP in 2005, but this year it was featured on Stereolab's new LP Fab Four Suture. Interlock is one of the most immediate songs Stereolab have recorded in a long time, and could easily have fit in on Emperor Tomato Ketchup and have been one of the better songs. Catchy, memorable, and distinctly Stereolab it seems to predict (hopefully) an upwards trend in the quality of Stereolab's music.

38. Jesu - Silver

This is swirling, shoe-gaze-esque, epic post-rock/metal with great vocals. By far one of the best post-rock songs I have heard this year, and one of my favorites overall.

# 37 The Lillingtons - All I Hear Is Static

http://www.sendspace.com/file/6hdbo0

Finally a band taps into the male psyche and lets women understand how men think. Catchy lyrics and guitar wizardry surround this track, this is the only pop punk band that matters. This will definately carve a smile into your puss

Be careful of the guitar solo.......................it is a f*cking FACEMELTER!!!

36. Voxtrot - Raised By Wolves

(I'll try get an upload as soon as possible.)

I just love this song so much, it's so iconic to me and reminds me of so much stuff I have been through in the past few weeks. They've done some great stuff, but to me this truely stands out as a masterpiece.

The target is the song title right below the player, with Safari I just click it and it dls.

The song sounds like an ideal candidate for hand claps. I mean that as a good thing, it's already there in the melody part uplifting, part breaking down in a real nice mesh.

35. Knight's of Cydonia - Muse

Nice and long rock sound, good vocals, music video is excellent. One of Muse's best songs, go download it.
