New song is exclusively available on Rolling Stone:

Quote:
Dinosaur Jr. recently finished recording I Bet on Sky – their third LP since 2007, due out on September 18th on Jagjaguwar – at Mascis' home in Amherst, Massachusetts; the new tunes reflect a natural progression into fuzzed-out ballads with gentler melodies. "I guess on this record, I wasn't as worried if we could play the songs live," Mascis says. "[On] the other two records [2007's Beyond and 2009's Farm], I was thinking of it being more songs that we could play live and tour more. I guess that's what's kind of different about this album: I just did what I felt would sound good."

The song "Watch the Corners," which premieres exclusively on RollingStone.com today, starts out with chugging riffs that ease into Mascis' vocals, and properly closes with a shredding solo. Wedged in the middle of the tune is an atypical breakdown with a brief flash of acoustic guitar.

Now STFU and get You're Living All Over Me.
Just remembered this after I've now re-joined spotify and found YLAOM on there. Will check it out althoug I think DJ are one of those bands that you only really need one album by.

What's that matter? I'm 21 and I've never listened to Dinosaur Jr.

I'll be seeing these guys in you in the coming weeks. I'm pretty stoked, it will be the first time I've seen them.

J is awesome! I know two of the members from Sweet Apple (J's other band) personally. You should definitely check them out if you haven't already! Also, Sebadoh is one of my all time favorites! I've seen them twice at the Grog Shop in Cleveland.

I'm also seeing them for the first time in a couple weeks! Also going to The Grog Shop a few weeks after that, pretty excited to see that venue.

I'd rate the new album about the same as Farm. I don't think it's high points reach are quite as prolific, but I also like it's shorter running time. 'Watch the Corners' is one of the better rock songs of this young decade...

I dunno, i think there's a pretty big shift in something like YLAOM to Green Mind or Where You Been. The changes aren't huge, but they do take care to make little tweaks.
