Uhh, My essential trip hop list is pretty done to death I suppose. I'd embed videos, but I don't think I have the post count enough to do so.

Zero 7 - Simple Things
Bowery Electric - Lushlife
Arms and Sleepers - Matador (is like fusion of trip-hop, post rock and ambient, so not sure if this counts)
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Aphilas - Prisoners of the Planet(more ambient than trip hop)
Sneaker Pimps - Splinter (more alternative than trip hop, but has its moments)
Saltillo - Ganglion

I really think Red Snapper deserves another mention...

Reeled and Skinned is an essential album for me all-around.

Cinephile's Memento is still one of the best things I've heard, Trip Hop or otherwise. Someone on here recommended that to me and I never got the chance to thank them, so if you're out there, thank you.

Everybody Loves Irene's album On Second Thought, I Might Want to Change Some Things came out of nowhere for me. They are an Indonesian band that has been around for a couple years. It's nothing revelatory in the realm of trip hop, but damn is it addictive. Really addictive. Sadly, there is only one song in Bahasa, and it is my personal favorite on the album:

Soon It Will Be Cold Enough by Emancipator
Filling Up The City Skies by Pretty Lights
The Garden by Zero 7
Lightweight Heavy by Fat Jon
Rock It Number Nine by Metaform
Metaphorical Music by Nujabes
Some of it's more like hip-hop or something else, but still good

neither of these are trip hop, but both are brilliant albums regardless of genre.

can't believe how few mentions there have been for Tricky's debut 'Maxinquaye', the essential trip hop album, never bettered.
