Default The Lilys

Lilys, led by singer/songwriter Kurt Heasley, are a notoriously difficult band to categorize. With an ever-evolving lineup, home base, and a sound that swings pendulum-like between My Bloody Valentine-influenced shoegazer and indie guitar pop. One of my favorite bands atm and I had finally gotten everything they have released. I had found that they were very easy to just jump into and I had listened to "Better Can't Make Your life Better" (which was heavily influenced by the Kinks) more times then I could count...probably the easiest album to start with.

EDIT:I had gotten "Everything Wrong Is Imaginary" awhile back and I really shouldn't have started this thread because my knowledge on the Lilys was lacking a bit.

I only really know "In the Presence of Nothing"... very My Bloody Valentine-ish. I think I heard "Eccsame the Photon Band" but wasn't too excited by it.

Any recommendations?

Ok I'm resurrecting this thread because I had written a terrible description and have replaced it with a new one.

Precollection is my favourite by them.

They're pretty great, very chameleonic with their sound.

I finally got to chat up Kurt Heasley, even if it was about a t-shirt I was supposed to get. He's one of the nicest musicians I've had the pleasure of talking to.

Dude you got to talk to Kurt, that most of been awesome! Anyway right now all I have is a Brief History of Amazing Letdowns (which I think is really great), but I'll get Everything Wrong Is Imaginary as soon as I can.
