I read an interview and the intervierer asked them why they suck live and they said they brought up a good point. They're young and getting alot of publicity. Everyone expects them to have it all figured out, but there still working out all the kinks in live shows and everything.

That being said they do suck live.

hahahahah, I have a theory that any electronic band will seriously suck live. Who wants to hear a computer perform? Now, I do think some of their album is not electronic, actually worth listening to, and not all exactly like Time To Pretend, Electric Feel and Kids. Those of you who said you only listened to part of the album, I assume heard those, as they are the popular ones. But, again, I gotta go with my electronic bands should be heard on an album with their friendly computers making it pretty. Save concerts for real musicians. (too harsh?)

OK, I just realized that Radiohead HAS to be excluded from my statement, for reasons obvious to us all.

Too much of a broad statement
but I'd say it's largely true
However, I am in an electronic music act...and we ****ing rock live.

Well...a lot of electronic bands use keyboards, which are conventional instruments, obviously, so wouldn't the keyboard player be included in what you mean by "real musicians"? And isn't a musician just someone who creates music?

I just posted this about an electronic band that was great live: Delta Fiasco. I also would submit that M83 was insanely good in concert.

It's true that an extensive amount of electronic acts use conventional instruments in their performances. I've seen a ton of great 'electronic' acts live - ones that employ electric dumkits, traditional kits, guitars, bass, keyboards, and vocals. So you can't just suggest that as a blanket statement all electronic bands are terrible live. I've been to some pretty rad electronic shows.

you can't issue a blanket statement
but he's almost right
about 75% of the electronic acts I see,
(and I see quite a few due to my bands style)
look utterly bored ****less cuase they're just running backing tracks on freakin' ableton

ok, ok, i agree, that may have been too broad, but I still stand by my theory. Depeche, yes, very good live, and NIN, and I'm sure there are others. MGMT is not one.
