Overheard in a record shop today:

Girl 1: "Did you hear that new MGMT song Electric Feel?"
Girl 2: "Yeah, it's not as good as that Kids song"

I just laughed to myself. I wonder what these two girls would make of Congratulations.

Haha yeah they were typical musically oblivious chavs. The radio stations here don't seem to realise that they've released a new album, they're still playing Kids. I thought they'd start playing Brian Eno or something by now.

Wasn't Kids released like 2007/early 08? They really need to get over it and stop playing it all the fucking time. Then again, it doesn't bother me because I stay away from radio as much as I can.

Seconded.
I would think "Electric Feel" would be popular commercially too. Its just an indie flavored porking song. Its great, but its still an indie flavored porking song.

I wish i could stay away from daytime radio a lot more, when i'm in work i have no choice but to listen to it all day long and listen to certain songs being played nearly every hour. On the other hand the radio here isn't all bad, we've some pretty decent late night indie/alternative shows presented by djs who really know their stuff and were in bands previously. They'd play some pretty cool stuff you'd never thought you'd hear played on the radio.

What do you do for a job? Isn't there any way you can use an iPod? Especially if it's a desk job or something. At least the radio isn't that bad, the best I can listen to is XFM which is k, best you're gonna get is some Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. All I ever seem to hear on XFM is Half The World Away by Oasis. 3 times I've listened to XFM and that's come on. Heard Brianstorm a couple of times as well. I avoid radio like the plague though.

I work in a hardware store, so i can't really listen to my ipod and serve customers at the same time haha. I'm not allowed to put on my own music either so it's pretty much radio or nothing. Yeah we get the usual Oasis and Arctic Monkeys stuff but sometimes they'd throw in some real cool stuff like The Melvins or Therapy?
