Passion Pit

My apologies if I missed thread on these guys already. I just saw them last night. They were fairly enjoyable. Their only release has been an EP entitiled Chunk of Change. I guess they only formed a year ago and got recognized out of the Boston scene after a few shows. Give them a listen, won't you?

adidasss 05-01-2009 12:00 PM

The album leaked and it's so much fun....http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...power/love.gif

Gone Sugaring 05-01-2009 05:22 PM

I liked the Chunk Of Change ep so I'm excited for the full length album.

Duke Of Slander 05-02-2009 06:31 PM

Full length leaked. I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed with it compared to their EP (which was amazing). I love these guys so maybe it'll grow on me.

adidasss 05-05-2009 05:30 PM

How great is that aye? http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...wer/dreamy.gif

adidasss 05-06-2009 06:37 AM

Ok, I've had a listen to the EP and the album is 10 times better. One of the better albums of the year for me...(:

Duke Of Slander 05-24-2009 05:09 PM

I gotta say its grown on me- such a fun album. And here I thought 2009 wasn't going to have any surprises for me:thumb:

Hmm, I gotta pick up the new album that was leaked, I picked up their EP and really liked it. Did you guys know that the EP was supposed to be a Valentines gift or something for the singers girlfriend, and it ended up being the EP as well. Anyways, I heard that somewhere and thought it was a pretty interesting fact.

alvin row 05-27-2009 03:51 PM

manners is definitely one of my top albums of the year so far. it's difficult to say which one i prefer, but it's in the same class as dan deacon's bromst, dirty projector's bitte orca (which i really haven't been able to hear enough yet), and grizzly bear's veckatimest.

the reeling and make light are impossible to stop listening to.

x Cheez iT 05-31-2009 08:07 PM

Yeah, I just got this, and I really enjoyed it! I thought Chunk of Change, their EP, was good, but I really like this album. I have really high hopes for this band!

WWWP 05-31-2009 09:44 PM

All my thanks goes to Marijan for hooking me up with Manners. I love, love, love it!

I seriously cannot stop listening to this album. It is soo damn good!

Gone Sugaring 06-02-2009 12:00 AM

So I finally got around to hearing this. Yes, I love this album in all of it's somewhat cheesy, ridiculously catchy glory.

Brad Stengel 06-02-2009 12:01 AM

Meaning to get this, didn't like them at first, but now Passion Pit gives me hope for a great Boston scene.

This_Is_Corey 06-05-2009 02:17 AM

I haven't listened to their full length yet, but I'm glad to hear its pretty good.

kkang 06-06-2009 08:34 PM

little secrets is pretty good, but only the intro for some people

IamAlejo 06-07-2009 04:47 PM

I'm not huge on them, but I've been listening to "Swimming in the Flood" and getting so much stuff done. Just a great vibe and progression throughout.

Passion Pit

edit: oops

I'd heard of them before but never really had the urge to check them out until I saw that they were opening for Muse. They make really catchy music that's definitely worth a listen if you enjoy synth-pop or dream-pop.

Zer0 04-26-2010 03:14 PM

Ah i love Passion Pit. Manners was one of my favourite albums from last year and Little Secrets was probably my song of the year. Hopefully they can follow-up that album with another gem.

clutnuckle 04-26-2010 05:46 PM

They're the band I'm most excited to see for an upcoming nearby music festival (featuring artists such as Rush, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater...). It's quite sad that I'm most excited to see an albeit good, synth-pop indie band.

Still, I really do like Chunk of Change.

TheBig3 07-21-2010 11:14 PM

Just caught the video for "Sleepyhead." Anyone else think this front man is capable of murder?

Yeah, his eyes make me want to start a cult.
The video for "Little Secrets" pisses me off too. Like, oh hey. I know this song is about opium addiction and all but lets just pretend that its not so we can use a lot of yellow, smiley face imagery, and delightful girls wearing yellow.

glastonelle 07-22-2010 02:33 AM

I quite like Passion Pit, but I havent heard much more than the singles. At first I thought it was a girl singing though

Superhast 08-16-2010 09:13 AM

I don't really like them, heard a couple of songs but nothing sounds awsome, except Sleepyhead. It were actually one of my favourite songs for a period :)

Passion Pit: Bros vaguely interested in listening to music and very interested in having sex with their girlfriend.

"Little Secrets" and "Sleepyhead". The rest of Manners kind of sucked.......
How can you be a veteran of a band thats only released one album?

the rest of manners sucked? the reeling is without a doubt the best song on that album and arguably one of the best songs of '09

I sort of agree there. Maybe not one of the best songs of 09. But with Little Secrets, The Reeling is one of their bests.

Havent heard the rest of the album so wouldnt know. And it took me a while to warm to Sleepyhead.

clutnuckle 08-24-2010 10:34 AM

"The Reeling" and "Cuddle Fuddle" pretty much steal the show as far as Passion Pit goes.

Sorry, thought that they had more releases :P

Rage Against the Machine 08-24-2010 02:16 PM

Manners is perfect except for Seaweed Song, which is the only one that bores me. The EP also kicks ass though, I wish those songs (bar sleepyhead) got more love.

little secrets is awesome and i loved ALL of manners!

TumorAttitude 08-24-2010 07:51 PM

I know I'm the minority but I thought it was crappy and lazy. I'll give it another listen though.

EDIT: Listened to it. 5/10. Realized I didn't like "Little Secrets" and "Sleepyhead" as much as I thought I did.........sorry guize.
