I'm listening to these guys right now, first time in a long time. I'd almost forgot how much I ****ing love You're A Woman, I'm A Machine. It's just such a dirty, noisy mess of an album while still being really great party music. I have a mix to make for a mates birthday party and these guys are now definitely included. I will have to check the remix/B sides album out and the EP's.

Romantic Rights (and no its not your speakers dying in the middle section, I'm just thinking that the dummer probably wished he had a mic picking up that Megaphone. Whoops.

I love them so much omfg.

Sebastien Grainger said this about the band name:

Quote:
1979 is the year of my birth,
1979 is the year of Off the Wall, (Michael Jackson)
1979 is the year of Pleasure Principle, (Gary Numan)
1979 is the last year of the last cool decade,
1979 is scratched into my arm,
1979 is scratched into my arm,
1979 is scratched into my ****ing arm.

I think I'm in love!

This is about the fastest I have ever gotten into a band. I guess it makes sense, what with me loving bass-heavy music and the whole noise/garage indie rock thing...

Listened to YAWIAM just now and liked it quite a bit, raw energy right there.

Default Death From Above 1979

The are a very catchy kind of dance rock band and their songs also make for great remixes. Check out MSTRKRFT if you are real into Death From Above 1979

They're both great, though.

Interesting. I've heard Heads Up but would never have said that. YAWIAM is one of my favourites though so maybe I just need to listen to it some more.

Ahh..I loved these guys back when they were still active. I remember catching them in a small venue opening for Danko Jones before YAWIAM came out. I had no idea they'd get so big. I'd love to say that I wish they'd reform, but I'm not sure how much else they could have accomplished being a drum & bass duo.
