There's a name I don't typically come across. I've heard a handful of his songs and might download one of his albums if I can find one...

I prefer it to "Youre A Woman...." because it has more energy where as "Youre a Woman..." is slow on parts. Also I think the riffs on Heads Up are better.

Bumping this thread for new album. I haven't heard many bass guitar and drum duos... There's a local band called Street Eaters that are okay. I know there's a hardcore band I used to listen to that played some brutal **** with just bass and drums. Lightning Bolt. Awesome Snakes. Some meh band on Burger Records. The list is small. DFA1979 are pretty tight, I'd heard of um before but they just seemed like some lame 'hipster' band, kinda **** that gets all hyped up and glowing reviews on pitchfork. I was right but it's still pretty fun, obnoxious, party times music. Probably killer live.

you can hear the new album here:

Pretty killer stuff, if the second album is anything like the first I'll prolly dig it. Their lyrics are crap, though. Not that anyone's paying attention.

Sweet! I heard they got back together I'll have to check it out. I wonder if he can solo on that distorted bass?

I would have been a lot more impressed with The Physical World if it had come out a year or two after You're a Woman, I'm a Machine, but second verse same as the first 10 years later does not enthral me
