Default Cymbals Eat Guitars

Yep, American Indie, predictable no? Except these guys have more imagination in their left testicle than most other bands of a similiar ilk show throughout their entire careers. I am of course basing my judgement purely upon one album, Why There Are Mountains, released this year. Its quite a snazzy effort, eschewing conventional song structures in favour of, at times ecstatic, at other times melancholic soundscapes.

Cymbals Eat Guitars are such a great new indie band.

They're so accessible, but unique at the same time. And the Hazy Sea is truly epic!

Love this band, another great song you forgot to mention (and a really mellow one from the album) is What Dogs See

been digging it since the debut. great opener. sometimes I feel like this album should have been made in the 70s and that's a compliment

It was definitely the YouTube quality that was lacking, they sounded much better when i listened to the album properly. I'm still not sure what to make of it overall but i certainly didnt hate it and i enjoyed it. I was digging some of the records more aggressive moments.
