are you guys talking about MMISL from England? the semi-hardcore group?

stormjh 01-17-2010 05:47 PM

I did a thread search and it never came up, seen it now, TTNG and colour are **** hot.

I'd hardly call MMISL semi-hardcore.

I've got mediafire links to the singer from MMISLs solo project if anyone wants, it's not maths, just acoustic stuff.

It's cool to see Drive Like Jehu got mentioned here, although I'm not sue weather or not I'd call them Math Rock.
Recently I've been listening to a lot of
Shellac's " At Action Park"
And Arab On Radar "Yahweh Or The Highway"

I pulled out my Ahleuchatistas album today, Even in the Midst... Definitely a good example of math rock. I've owned it a few years but this was probably only my 3rd time listening to it. Took some time to get into I guess, as it's definitely noodly at times. But today I liked it a lot more than before, picked out some good grooves and melodies not apparent before. I may be ready to check out their other works.

As for Shellac. I got 1000 Hurts maybe around 2003 but didn't really start digging it till last year, after having it shelved for many years. I then checked out At Action Park which hasn't grown on me as much...but maybe it'll take time too. It's not bad of course it just hasn't moved me too much.
