I absolutely love Lightning Bolt. From what I've heard of them, 2Morro Morro Land from Hypermagic Mountain is my favourite for now. It helps me to quickly wake myself up in the morning.

The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower, Black Eyes, and Liars (especially before their self-titled album) are pretty great.

Magic Markers are an interesting noise-rock band, or just noise. I listened to one of their first releases on Ecstatic Peace from 2005. I Trust My Guitar, etc and it's reminiscent of no-wave or early Sonic Youth from Confusion is Sex/Kill Your Idols period. Since then they had several releases and I wonder if anyone have listened to them. As I understood they somewhat changed their sound, so I'm curious to hear how they developed.
Not the best quality but the best I could find from that earlier period |
This has been my noise rock jam lately:

I just recently got into Afrirampo...it's two girls from Japan who have made a reputation for themselves by the raw energy they have on stage. They really just sound like they are having a great time while making their music. If any of you guys are familiar with Acid Mothers Temple, they are good friends with that band and record on their label. They even made an album together called We Are Acid Mothers Afrirampo...which I also recommend if you like either band.

Might as well bring this back from the dead for this one...
