Who's Overrated?
Who are the 10 most overrated bands or artists of all time? Not the worst of all time, the worst of all time were never rated that good. For example, that canadian rapper Snow. No one ever cared about him. I want to see a list of artists that people actually liked or still do. They can still be good... but they are overrated.
My poll: 10. Yellowcard 09. Simple Plan 08. Staind... should've stuck to their roots like mudshovel 07. Backstreet Boys/ Backstreet Boys... let's face it they're the same 06. Nelly 05. Greenday... i love them, but they get way too much credit 04. Blink 182 03. Good Charlotte... a few good songs doesn't make you good 02. Puff Daddy... likes rapping to other people's songs... even Led Zep :yikes: 01. Elvis Presley!!!!!! WHY DO PEOPLE WORSHIP THIS MAN???? |
Elvis Presley!! :yikes: No way is that man overrated! Jeez compared to what the music scene was like around him at the time... Ah well, guess we're all different. Mine'd probably be..
Green Day Franz Ferdinand Coldplay Cant think of anymore for the mo.. Thatll do for now. |

Coldplay.. while not my personal taste i don't mind them sometimes, and i don't think they're really that overrated, Greenday.. yea definitely! I think some more overrated artists would be: Good charlotte, Chingy, The offspring, Jet, U2, The killers, Queen, Britney spears, No doubt, Metallica... well thats my opinion, i'm sure i'm gonna have a few ppl disagreeing! |

ok..anyone agrees with me that THIS WHOLE SH*T WITH OVERRATED BANDS is overrated??? come on, wake up, people!! we don't care. at least i don't
|
I care, its just like stating any other opinion on music.. What would be the point in a music forum if we didnt post our opinions... aHA it makes sense.
|
I agree with yellowcard and simple plan but I never could get into them anyway. Everyone loves greenday, and they're good at what they do...they're clearly doing it for the money so when they get the paycheck they're good at what they're trying to do.
"07. Backstreet Boys/ Backstreet Boys... let's face it they're the same" Surely they ARE the same band??? (confused) Nelly, puff daddy, blink good charlotte - what can I say? They're rubbish Elvis Presley is the king... |
Elvis is the biggest thief of American black music....after Jimmy Page and Eminem of course.
|
this is urprisingly difficult, a couple of bands i find overrated are embrace, oasis (despite the fact im a fan) and the strokes (again, despite the fact im a fan).

Does anyone realize how overrated Nirvana is? I still like them but I think that they are way overrated. Especially their album Nevermind, which is perhaps the most overrated album of all time.
|
no, it is not the most overrated album of all time...
you must have forgotten about U2 and co |

I can say that Nivana was never overrated, at the time, they were, but the albums are classic now and if you grew up in the nirvana phase.....you kinda just love them through and through....
one of their albums that were underratted was Insecticide however...but that's just my opinion... |

It was a collection of awful B sides that sounded like they were made up on the spot |

furthermore, nirvana literally changed the sound of rock music for the next 5 or so years with one bloody song and an album to bolster its appeal. whatever you say about it you cannot doubt neverminds impact. im not the biggest motley crue fan, nor do i know much about them, but im pretty sure they never produced anything near as good as nevermind or bleach for that matter.

Glam rock was the biggest selling Rock of the 80s
Motley Crue were the first Glam rock band to get any exposure. They also sold albums by the millions. You say Nirvana changed rock , so did Motley Crue a decade earlier. Before they came along the american music scene was full of soft rock & 70s has beans.Motley Crue paved the way for the likes of Poison ,Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi , Ratt & probably helped revive the careers of Aerosmith & Alice Cooper in the process. All million selling artists in the 80s , Motley Crue`s success in that decade pre dates all of them. Just because you don`t like a genre of music doesn`t mean you can`t give credit. It doesn`t matter if Nirvana`s albums were better or not thats subjective |
I'm going to go out on a limb and say The Beatles. Not because they're bad, they're not, they're very good. and not because I underestimate the influence they've had on contemporary pop/rock music. I don't. I just find them quite boring, especially compared to reverence and mania with which most people approach their music. I also think the Rolling Stones are very UNDERRATED as far as their influence on today's music is concerned. They don't get enough credit. I'd rather listen to a good Stonrs album than the Beatles any day.
|
Yeah... "Stonrs" Is there any way to pronounce the letters "nrs"?
|
Yeah... That would be "STONE....RRRRRRRS". Give me a f**kin' break. the E is right next to the R. I'm gonna' search your posts and bring up some of your insignifigant typos !!! :whythis:
