I haven't even bought the new album. Listened to all the songs on their Youtube channel and was like, 'meh.' Disappointing.

Pitchfork
Oct 19, 2020

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker sits down with Pitchfork to talk about some of his favorite drum sounds. From John Bonham's thunderous claps on Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times," to Portishead's "Holy Grail" drum feel, Kevin explains what makes these drums so influential to his own sound.

I peaked on acid to Lonerism once staring into my lovers eyes

It was a journey

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Tame Impala has been, alongside MGMT and King Gizzard, among the artists that kept me excited the most throughout the 2010s. I also liked The Slow Rush, which is the latest Tame Impala album, I still prefer Lonerism and Currents to it but it's still a solid album.

I gave in and bought this album. Listened to the whole thing in my car on Saturday.

And it was the most boring album I've bought in a long, long time. There wasn't a single song that stood out at all. There were maybe a couple that had some potential, but their execution was very lacking.

Waste of $$.

I sow him live in Lyon 4 or 5 years ago. I'm less fan now.

Here's a cover of Mind Mischief I discovered some years ago that's honestly as good, if not better, than the original. Renditions like this are one reason I think Kevin Parker should do an acoustic album sometime.

That's pretty neat, but to call it as good as or even better than the original is pure blasphemy sir!
