It has to be chillwave, I can't stand all these bands that sound the same making "relaxed, summery electro-beats", it bores me out of my skull. Neon Indian, Washed Out, etc.

Indie people don't need light bulbs they just rely on their glow in the dark finger mustache tattoos and reflective skin tight leg warmers.

It's an obscure number, you've probably never heard of it.

charlemagne's was the intended punchline. i also like:

1 to change it and 3 to stand around and talk about how much better it was before lightbulbs became so mainstream.

Actually pitchfork is now hated among indie kids. Its like being in the holy land if you make fun of pitchfork.

assuming you mean the Canadian NB and not the New Jersey one.

it all depends on who you talk to and whether or not you're still looking at the X-locals sites as being reflective of the actual ability and knowledge around the area (they're not - they're the high school cliques that never ended).

let's put it this way, i moved into rural NB a few years ago and had people introducing me to stuff like Boards of Canada, Mogwai, God Speed you Black Emperor, Squarepusher and Aphex Twin - in the late 90s.

lame is relative. stop hanging around with people who refuse to believe their home town or local area could ever be culturally diverse or anything besides a few years behind the curve, and if you're one of those born and bred locals who can't see another perspective besides that one - either find the strength of character, or move away for long enough to get over your self loathing.
