btw, i'm really not concerned if something is original or not...if i like it i like it....it doesn't bother me at all that bloc party sonds a lot like gang of four, i would beg to differ that franz sounds like xtc though....

where does this come from? did i say they were trying to copy someone?...most musitians have influences and so do the white stripes....

I prefer the Kaiser Cheifs.

Not copy, but you said nothing new in music is original... and if something is completely unoriginal it's usually because it's been copied from elsewhere.

I posted my list to show you the amount of new bands who are around that have an original sound, but if you're happy enough listening to the same rehashed sounds, fair enough, as long as they're making money they'll be happy.

i'll tell you what, if you feel like it, list the best song from each of them, i'll download them and then i can make my judgment....and we can argue some more....

The Kaiser Cheifs do sound slightly like Franz... But The Bravery are just The Killers, but crapper. The Kaisers have some much more orginal and exciting stuff and of corse bands are going to sound like each other, when you get a new, completely orginal band it's great, but I'm afraid it doesn't happen too often. Anyway, I guess it's just a matter of opinion...

i think gang of four's damaged goods is the inspiration of the kaiser chiefs whole sound in a way. but the chiefs aren't as great....i still like em though and i still haven't voted!

Its pretty obvious, but Id say Blur are th'Chiefs biggest influences, me... Did you know thats Graham Coxons momobike at the start of Saturday Night? Best BritRock collaboration by miles!
