Are Indie People Hippies?

I don't think I'd ever define anyone as a hippie.
I have the old vans though. Well, they're not old. But they look old. I **** them up in less than a year.

To be quite honest, though, "new" hippies and hipsters really aren't that far apart. In fact, for the most part I've known them to coexist peacefully.

People are people, not class systems or sub groups even if they aspire to be that. I hate being called a ****ing hippie by people. Apparently if you are good natured, do pschedelic art, have longish curly hair and eat lots of fruit you are a hippie.
