Please tell me this isn't true...................I actually agree with the above statement. Also the video for "Newborn" wasn't bad either.

I also love Absolution, and although Showbiz has its occasional high points, most of it just doesn't hold up to their other works. Absolution has classics such as "Butterflies and Hurricanes" and "Apocalypse Please," not to mention the prequel to DT's "Never Enough: "Stockholm Syndrome."

The downside to Muse is Bellamy's fascination with the chords that I now call "Muse chords." I'm sure all musos know what I'm talking about here. They're present in at least 50% of the tracks off Absolution and I actually have nothing against them, but after a while it gets tiresome.
I know exactly what you mean about the chords. It's probably that which makes absolution my least favorite album. While the other albums of course have the so-called "muse chords", they don't overdo it at all, and so they just add to the interest. But i think it gets into overkill in absolution.

Is it just me or does it sound like they rushed the recording of "Falling Away From You"? Someone pointed out that the guitar squeeks alot, now its ruined the song for me and all i can hear is squeeky guitar. Also the booklet that came with Absolution has a crap load of lyric errors.

That's just the sound from the frets when changing chords and was purposefully put in for whatever reason in the quieter parts.

Post Muse - Supermassive Black Hole

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kg1MM...%20Revelations

The New Muse single, people are ranting on about how this is awful and 'the end' for Muse.

Bollocks. This is excellent, one of the catchiest songs they've done yet.
Any thoughts?

I really like that song, good disco feel to it and nice interplay between the rhythms, sparse rif***e and vocal harmony. Muse are one of those bands that provide a very danceable side to alt-rock. This song is less rock and more dance than before, so some rock purists (who never bought Muse music anyway) will think its got worse, but the dancy-types will probably like it even better than their old stuff.

For pure listening, its about as good as their old music, but it makes me want to move my feet more.

Wait man, time will let everybody know it's not the end.
Not too much of a Muse fan, but they're certainly a band that I can see staying for a while (now there is no buckley anyway, otherwise he probably would be the preferred version) but they sure make some damn good songs.

It's different. I like their old stuff way more. This seems to be much more poppy. It definitely didnt make me want to go and buy the album.

I'm going to put this in the nicest way I possibly can.

It's no Citizen Erased.
