There is so much make / break tension when it comes to new albums released by favorite bands... sometimes I wonder how much this tension affects our perception of the music itself...

I hope so, I don't mind looking like a fool if the album's actually good.

I saw the video for Sing for Absolution yesterday, it was really amazing. Too bad their good videos are very few and far between. =\ But as their albums progress their video batch get slightly better. Blackholes had the best batch of videos. Even if the new album blows I'm hoping it'll have some interesting videos.

I found this to be slightly interesting on their recording process.

Muse Are Conspiracy Theorists!

New single from Muse "Uprising"is an attack on the banking system.Album out in Sept. called "The Resistance" is influenced by Orwell's "1984" and belief that plans are afoot to establish a totalitarian "New World Order."

So we're all going to have to love Big Brother... and, no I don't mean the reality show....

On August 7, 2009, "Uprising" was featured by right-wing United States radio host Glenn Beck on his nationally syndicated talk radio show. Beck, a fan of the band, pointed to the lyrics as a critique of large, invasive, and controlling fascist-style government. Beck offered the song as evidence that the United Kingdom and Europe were ahead of the United States in disillusionment with the growth of government.
haha I think it's great how Glenn Beck is taking their music seriously. I mean I'm not sure how much Matt believes in this kinda stuff I remember him saying in an interview 'well I don't really buy into all of it, but I'm certainly interested in that alternative way of thinking'.

The whole album's about 1984, not the world today. But of course Glenn Beck wouldn't mention that, if he even knows.

A concept piece about 1984 is something I could sink my teeth into...

Is a concept piece really worth it if the lyrics are tripe?
