Muse

Who likes Muse? I don't know if I do yet, I haven't bought their CD,
is it worth it?

Runaway 09-06-2004 01:18 PM

Definitely. They have 3 albums I think. I've only really heard the latest one, Absolution and it is very very good. We saw them live last year and they were fantastic. I cant really tell you much about them, but you can expect a long post from Disturbed later.

muse#1fan 09-06-2004 03:29 PM

Yeah man but as you can see i am biased they have three studio albums Showbiz, Origin of symetery and Absolution and one live/rare album this is called Hullaballo it is also been released as a DVD. all are fantastic my personal favorite is absolution. best song either Bliss or Stockholm syndrome. seen them three times and they are the best live act i have seen matt bellamy's voice is amazing live.

covle 09-06-2004 07:59 PM

ill have to agree. they'v been around a while and iv always liked them. i have absolution and origin of symmetry. again ill agree, one of the best bands that iv seen live. matts voice sounds even better live. at a festival earlier this year they played and had this crazy piano with lights on the back in the shape of the keys. whenever matt touched a key it lit up on the back, and he plays some insane piano...which sounds like a contradiction...

Thrice 09-06-2004 10:25 PM

Hell yeah buy it, I just recently got into them(just before absolution) and i love them, check em out at their website, or even yahoo launch.

AmyLeeFan 09-08-2004 08:23 PM

Thanks people! Just what I wanted to hear!

DeAd GiRl 09-09-2004 12:15 PM

I used to be a good fan of muse, I wet to see them in concert a year or two ago, but their new album is just bulls***. But my favourite song of all time of theirs is Plug In Baby-their only song that can get me up and make me dance like a lunatic

muse rock my world

one of my favourites... i think i would die if i saw them live
my friend met matt bellamy on a bus <3333
i really love absolution-its one of those albums you can put on a listen all the way through. that doesnt mean its background music though. when i listen to muse i'm like transfixed by the music, i actually cant do anything else while muse is on. bellamy's vocals are stunning and the music just rips through your soul, its fantastic.

best song has to be apocalypse please just because his voice on that is breath-taking in the way he screams his way through the song and it makes your heart want to burst with fear and love. buy this album, i cant rate it enough.

Megzer 09-16-2004 02:26 PM

They're amazin on so many levels!
Matt Has to be one of the most talented men ever! He can sing like no one else, play guitar like a mad man while sitting on the drum set, and play the piano so fast you even see his hands. Saw them live a few months ago! Unforgetable!!!

Alter Bridge 09-25-2004 02:34 PM

Muse are wicked

I don't think their given the respect the deserve, some of their guitar riffs and solos are sweet.

WeCameToRock 09-25-2004 06:03 PM

Yeah I think Muse is very good too. AmyLeeFan, don't be dismayed, because they are very much an overseas phenomenon. Like so many great bands they have just had a really tough time breaking into the North American market. Its a shame really, but definately check them out. Start with their latest I guess.

pompom 10-14-2004 05:04 AM

i like muse i like their songs 'hysteria' and 'sing for absolution'

Junior Saint 11-03-2004 12:52 PM

Muse are so understated it is unbelievable, there are far too many people out there who don't know who they are. The whole feel of their songs is just amazing, and their musical abilities are stunning! I can't praise them enough, they're just one of those bands i would absolutely love to see live!

Han 11-04-2004 12:42 PM

I quite like them actually, I went to a concert and have all the albums and I love the fact that butterflies and hurricanes is so different from what is around at the mo. Everyone I talk 2 recently seem to have something of theirs in their cd players so yeah, if u dont listen...start now

Serotony 11-06-2004 10:35 AM

Muse is pretty damn good. i agree that somehow they´re not as well known as they sort of deserved to be already.

but then, i like it that things kind of happen a bit slower sometimes, cuz it does happen a lot, that once the band takes off in this very overwhelming way, it gets to their heads and the music itself, sometimes (not in all cases, sure) gets affected by that, somehow.

also, although they´re really good, i do think they still have to consolidate their talent to actually set themselves as a great "new" band out there.
so, let the next, say 2, albums come and let us see if they´re gonna be this good (or maybe even better...) or not. then, we´ll be able to say with a full mouth, that Muse is definitly a great, great band.

Han 11-06-2004 10:42 AM

Yeah muse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

thoughts of a dying atheist totally ****ing rocks too. not a fan of their first album though, showbiz. lacked any real fire for me.

Robbo64 12-11-2004 06:28 AM

Pure talent. Everything from vocals to guitars to piano...I just don't see many other bands out there doing what muse are doing....making totally different music. Everyone should be educated about their class...I'm think I'm a fan ;)

totally agree

Drifting_Angel 12-11-2004 11:50 PM

I've only listened to Absolution regarding hearing the albums in full, but I've heard some songs when they occur randomly on my playlist.

My friend went to there concert ages ago; I was so jealous cuz I'm told it was awesome

My Chemical Romance 12-12-2004 12:09 PM

I have their latest album, Absolution, and from this album alone I can safely say that Muse kicks ass. I would definetly recommend it, can't say anything about their other albums though.

TheBig3 12-12-2004 01:16 PM

I didn't read every post, so forgive me if this has been said. But I have a real problem with people who borrow very heavily from another band still making music. Admit it or not, if there was no Radiohead there would be no muse. So I (I as in me) wouldn't nessicerily buy there CD but I do like the songs I've heard on the radio. I just hate theives.

ish 12-17-2004 06:08 AM

yeah but they add their own bits

Amo Pheara 12-17-2004 10:51 AM

Origins of Symmetry was very good, Showbiz was good but it did leave something to be desired...and Absolution...well i wasnt a fan.

ish 12-17-2004 03:58 PM

i thought absolution was the better album....so we all have our own taste

fair enough, showbiz was very radiohead-esque and origin of symmetry to a lesser degree, but absolution is nothing like them, its heavier and louder- muse do not use studio technology in the way radiohead do and they focus a lot on guitar riffs- something rhead are not known for. they're not better, but absolution is completely different.
