The lyrics are pretty weak on the new album actually in my opinion. Especially on stuff like United States of Eurasia and Unnatural Selection. The latter is a pretty decent track musically but certainly not lyrically. Matt Bellamy's lyrics are not for everyone and he's no genius but there are usually lyrics in every album that I like or I can get a kick out of.
I couldn't disagree more about Exogenesis, KH. Sure there might be better orchestral music out there but Muse are in reality a pop group. Sure they have their uncommercial moments amonst their radio friendly singles but Exogenesis is a fairly ballsy move for a band with their commercial appeal. I think it's a wonderful track. |

I'm actually kinda disappointed with the lack of guitar tracks on the new record, I distinctly remember Matt saying he'd been working on a lot of sweet riffs for this album. But like I said before he's a great pianist and probably a better one than he is guitar player. I think it'd be great if he did a solo album that was just him playing piano. I don't really understand the hate for the album's sound. They've obviously been pushing towards this sound since Absolution.
