I've just listened to WHOKILL, not overly blown away, it isnt melodic enough for me never seems to flow enough. Just a personal call though.

WhoKill is very good. I'd say it's my favourite album of 2011 so far.

It made me go out and look at Tune-Yard because I was curious where the hell this album came from. This Merrill Garbus is a very interesting person.

Every time I see the band name typed out in UpEr and LoWeR case letters I read it as "turds".

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yeh I dislike when bands have their names like that. It really annoys me how it looks on th IPod screen!

I just write it out normally as Tune-Yards. Then it doesn't bother me. But otherwise it would and I wouldn't let it on my computer...

It's interesting to hear that complaint about it because I'd say the vocal melodies are my favorite thing about the album.

When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

Default The Tune Yards

So I was watching Austin City Limits a week or so ago and after a typical Edward Sharpe et al performance, on came this group. Holy hell! I wanted to hate them, and I'm sure many will. But I love them.

This chic creates loops with a snare drum, other various percussion, and a ukelele, among other instruments. Her voice is interesting and there is a sax section. I think they would be awesome live.

Anyone else listen to the Tune Yards? Or care to offer any opinions? They have two albums out. I haven't really given either a listen, just excited about the two songs below I've heard:
