Jack White

Just curious about your thoughts on him as a musician. I, as you can tell, am a fan (glances at name). :P I went to a Raconteurs concert and was blown away. But my friends, except for my girlfriend, have no love at all for him lol. Call him a talentless peice of ****. :'( Makes me sad, it does. But enough of that. your opinions?

man IMO hes a future legend like Rock Hall of fame type of guy

How can u not like dis guy hes played and wrote some of the most KIller rock riffs in the past 15 years. And he has a unique voice, u know ur good when u hear a song on the radio and know instantly thats Jack white.

Big fan. Saw the dead weather a couple years ago, jack came out and played guitar for "will there be enough water". He played an epic solo, jamme so hard that he went crashing into a speaker and kept jamming while he was on the ground. I was close to front row, it really blew me away. He's not the most technical player, you don't have to tell me. But as mentioned, hes one hell of a riffer. And while he may not be the most technical, he's not that bad. He has a real unique and distinct style and tone. He's a great songrwriter, and he's pretty good on the keys and drums as well.

And I think the little blues revival of the late 20th and 21st century can be credited to jack white. There's been a lot of simple, 2 to 3 man bands in the last 10 years that have been following in his and the black keys footsteps.

Great musician and great songwriter. Sometimes the songs are so simple you wonder why you couldn't come up that yourself. That's the magic of Jack White to me. He finds something simple and makes it new again. Got to love. Songs like Ball and Biscuit are a good example. Can't deny the impact of Seven Nation Army either. Keep on rockin'.

I really enjoy the rawness of a lot of the Stripes' music, but I especially enjoy the homage they pay to their major influences.

All Captain Beefheart covers, and it's great to know that a fellow beefhead has achieved critical acclaim and that they are using their acclaim to open some eyes to the beef.

Exactly. Seven Nation Army is so simple, but I think it's sheer genius that he could turn something so simple into something so brilliant.

Absolutely love me some Jack White, and I totally agree with Norg he's already secured his place as a rock legend.

An interesting aside: before the White Stripes Jack worked at an upholsterers shop in Chicago. He and a fellow worker had a band called the Upholsterers and they would stash vinyl single's from their band inside random peoples couches\chairs that had been brought in to be fixed, so if you live anywhere near Chicago don't ever get rid of an old couch without looking inside it first, there may be a valuable record inside. :D

Yes, the Upholsterers were pretty good.

I never thought of jack white as a rock legend. He was pretty influential for in making garage rock revival popular but I never really thought of his influence going much beyond that.

He's certainly been a Rock legend of the last 12 years. He's a modern day Rock legend.
