Default Pixies anyone?

As you can probably tell by the screen name I'm a huge fan of the band. Anyone else? and if so do you prefer their early stuff like Surfer Rosa era or the more commercial sound like off Doolittle?

Frank Black is one of my fav vocalist ever. I love how he can go from soft whispers to screams (best example of this would be Tame)

The Pixies are one of my favourite five bands. Simply amazing melodies and vocals. The platonic alternative band to me.

After seeing Loud Quiet Loud, my interst in the Pixies has re sparked. I'd say Hey is my fav song by them. Are Kim and Frank's other projects any good?
