I believe that Jesus did exist, but he is dead and to say that he watches over us is where i get annoyed. Jesus may have been a great person. But so was Einstein. and u dont see people going around saying "why cant everyone understand e=mc2, it would make the world a better place." I think religion is arrogance; to have no give or take for a set of beliefs.

I dont mean to cause any arguments in this thread i just wanted to pose a point of why religion is somewhat pointless. Its cool to believe in something but saying ur beliefs should be the only way is rubbish.

i think you were trying to make a point but i don't see what. comparing einstein and Jesus? How can understanding the theory of relativity improve relations between people and make the world a better and friendlier place?Like i said before, i can see how someone can have a problem with The Church as an organisation, and if you don't belive in Jesus i can see how you can be indifferent to Him, but to insult Him is something i don't understand...

Christianity, just like any other religion, was simply a method for the human-nature induced need for self-explination.

The fact that it's now huge tends to make people overlook the fact that it indeed started out much like Native American folklore
- and that's what kills me.

I think we need a new enlightenment, because most people are blindly following something with effects they hardly understand.
