Default The london indie scene

what do you think of the bands from the east end? bands such as
the paddingtons
the cribs
thee unstrung
the rakes
selfish c*nt
the cherubs
the others
and of course- the libertines.
to me, its all very energetic, nihilistic and wild- a bit of ramshackle scene overall. i like it. opinions?

yeah, i like it too. I'm mostly into indie stuff so...indeed. Everyone seems to hate the others, mainly because of all the crap that Dominic Masters comes out with, but yeah...of course, the Libs...twud be nice to see them playing together again, not sure itll happen though, have you heard Yeti - John Hassals new band? i like them too. as for the other bands you mentioned, havent reeaally heard enough to make a full oppinion on them as such, but if you could recommend any tracks, i shall have a listen.

Pretty much all of the previously mentioned bands are good. I'm not so keen on the Paddingtons...they seem like a poor man's Libertines.

You really have to weed the good stuff out from the crap with this bunch of bands. I didn't listen to Selfish **** for ages cause they have one of the worst band names ever, but they're actually pretty good. The Others however, I can't stand. There's a few I don't know so I'll check them out LedZepStu.

I still can't believe The Others got the John Peel Award For Musical Innovation. John Peel would have turned over in his grave hearing that.
