Yeah, Alex James is a bit of a cheese-crazed madman. I can't really pass judgement on what he was actually like when Blur were doing anything meaningful though because I'm too young to know him as anything other than the bizarre "gentleman" farmer he's become.

Definitely prefer the Gorillaz. Once I saw a documentation about them, called "bananaz" or something like that? which convinced me even more.

Damon is all that is beautiful in the world but I actually prefer the Good, the Bad, and the Queen to both

I've seen Albarn live some time ago, he's an extremely talented musician and whatever he does is awesome. However if I have to choose, I'd choose Gorillaz

I definitely prefer Gorillaz, even though it took me a while to get into them!

Nothing Gorillaz has done comes close to Think Tank (which is a fantastic album, one of the best of the 00s), Blur or Parklife for me. To call them a run-of-the-mill lad band, as somebody said in this thread, is dumb in my opinion, like them or not they were always looking to develop and experiment with their sound, introducing all manner of styles and genres into their later work in particular. I love Blur, but merely like Gorillaz. Plastic Beach is very good, granted.

I agree Demon Days is a classic, that song about the mountain called Monkey still gives me chills.
