I've noticed quite a lot of britpop nostalgia creeping in of late. I started paying attention to music during the britpop era, taping songs off the radio and all that jazz. Oasis were practically the biggest thing on the planet here for a period and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was the first album I ever had. There was also a lot of crap getting media attention and heavy radio play during the britpop era as well, stuff like Dodgy, The Lightning Seeds, Ocean Colour Scene and Cast. Bands which deserve to be forgotten about.
But there was some really great stuff that came out of britpop. My favourite bands would be Suede, Pulp and The Auteurs. I also dig Elastica, Puressence and Saint Etienne. I also must admit that I've never given Blur a proper chance and that I do like some of their singles. It's something that I've been meaning to rectify.
