Default Rock My Soul -Austn

Hi...I was talking to another artist/fan and we were discussing the ideas layered on "ROCK MY SOUL" from my first CD "GREY"... He thought it was cool when I explained to him that the intro was a tribute to 60's rock with a hanging Hendrix style guitar lead-in, built on guitar riffs and running basslines, utilizing wild drum-solo style beat patterns, and last but not least highlighted with a Jim Morrison (Doors) style lead vocal... the 70's influences are the Steve Miller echo harmony sound on the verses and the Styx dual guitar harmonies over the riffs...The 80's new wave handclaps and electronic effects are next, and the 90's adds a gundge/punk flavour spirit of attitude...The solo guitar between the harmony parts uses a real Fuzz box distortion... crude, rude and loud.... had fun with that...The song is about the rock-n-roll event, party till you drop syndrome, hence the line,"rock my soul till my eyeballs roll"...Give this one a listen... it's been
number 1 on the indie charts at http://numberonemusic.com/austn/ , another example of my concept of CY_BER_ROCK...Austn
