I just got Julian Plenti....Is Skyscraper last night and I was surprised to how good it actually is, I was expecting an Interpol sounding record but in truth the album does bare some tracks that wouldn't sound out of place on Our Love To Admire but for the most part Julian Plenti has it's own indie rock sound. That being said I think it's actually much better than Our Love to Admire and will do good holding Interpol fan's patience for their next album.

Well thats actually good to hear! I heard somewhere that his solo album wasn't as good as anything Interpol had done... good to hear a positive review of it actually... I've heard a bit of negativity about it and interpol in general, actually, but I had a feeling it was all a bit better than the descriptions I was being given.

Anyone have a copy they could pm me?
|
I'd hook you up man but that link I used last night is dead. =\
|
I just found out that Carlos D isn't with Interpol anymore. I loved his basslines :/
|
Awww.... yeah that actually does kinda suck, i always found the bass playing in Interpol's sound to be quite appealing... lets hope they find a replacement that's up to the task!
|
yeah i was bummed to hear this..guy is a damn good bassist..
|
Oh son of a BITCH...that guy basically made the band. If it wasn't for his dynamic playing, I would have killed myself with the incessant down stroke repetitiveness of the guitarists. There goes a good band.

Interpol Self-Titled LP
Anyone listened to it yet, and if so, what are your thoughts?
I know the reviews have been pretty mixed, but I've been enjoying it quite a bit so far. Not their best, but I'd put it on par with Our Love to Admire, which I also thought was good but not great. |
I'd put it on parr with Antics, personally. It's got some great tracks, the closer, The Undoing, is astounding.
Lights, Always Malaise, Success and Barricades also deserve a mention. |
