Default Bloc Party

Ok I think this is the right genre. So I've heard about 3 songs by bloc party and I think they're freaking amazing...but I was just wondering if anyone has there album and whether it's any good, because I'm fed up of liking one song, buying an album and only listening to that song...so anybody know?

I think they're touring with pretty girls make graves in march but they're sold out I think so there's no way of seeing them live, I thought I'd compensate by buying the CD if it's good.

(For those who wish to know I've heard 'helicoptor','Banquet' and 'so here we are')

i just bought the album yesterday and to me its very edgy, energetic "art-rock" if you will. helicoptor and banquet are class and though i think so here we are is quite spineless, overall the album is worth buying, stand out tracks for me are the obvious two plus this modern love and positive tension- which incidentaly- rules.

Yeah it's a good record, Banquet is the stand out on there but the rest of it is very solid. Good debut, hopefully something they'll build on.

I've never listened to the album either, but I have downloaded a lot of songs and they just haven't made much of an impression

I'm not sure if newbies have any rights to opinions here, but here goes... Well the first ooohhh.... seven songs are utterly flan-tastic, but it all starts getting a bit samey and whatnot t'wards the end. Still, Helicopter and She's Hearing Voices alone warrant it at least an "8". I'm interested to see what they do next seeming as they have a really varied sound on Silent Alarm... Watch this space... WATCH IT! Ahem... Thank you

A really varied sound?

I guess it is , I mean some of the songs sound like Franz Ferdinand & the rest of them sound like the Strokes

Zing! Yeah but what about track 3, She's Hearing Voices.... Pigeonhole that! Some of their stuff is actually quite *shivers*...emo...
