Society is a Hole is another favorite from it, and Brave Men Run. I'd say Flower too, but it didn't originally belong in the album.

Your description of Bad Moon Rising is perfect actually. I love it

I've always loved them but recently I've been on a Sonic Youth binge. Every album I've heard is fantastic, especially the early no-wavey stuff. Thurston Moore is great.

This is simply one of the greatest things ever

An awesome song, and lots of awesome noise to round it all off. I'm not too fond of the Washing Machine album but 'The Diamond Sea' is probably the greatest thing the band ever recorded, all twenty minutes thirty-nine seconds of it.

I think Sister is probably my favourite Sonic Youth album although Goo and Daydream Nation are more sentimental favourites of mine.

For those of you who don't know already

Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore Announce Split | Music News | Rolling Stone

Thurston and Kim have split up after 27 years of marriage

The band are still going ahead with their November tour but this looks dangerously like the end. I hope the band don't split because I've yet to see them live but I can't really see the band continuing much longer.
