It really is astounding how badly people can sell out.

KOL sold out?

Because they have made 3 brilliant albums that haven't got the recognition they deserved, so they decide to make an album a little more mainstreme and catchy?

Nothing wrong with wanting to become popular, and because of that decision, they're the biggest band in the world right now.

So changing your style and sound to a sanitized MOR arena rock in order to make more money isn't a soulless purely commercial decision?

That's pretty much selling out. Steering away from their original sound to make a more mainstream and catchy album in order to be more popular and make more money, etc.

going from a unique band to a throaway flavour of the month is pretty much the definition of selling out, I don't understand why people are sticking up for them when they even admitted to it.

I loved their sound before the 4th album, I loved Youth & Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak the most.

And I like Only By The Night the least, but I dunno, if I was making great songs like Milk, The Bucket, Soft, Red Morning Light and I was pretty unheard of. I'd want that to change. I still like their new stuff, that's probably why I'm defending them. But I'm getting annoyed with young girls who have heard 2 songs and call themselves 'fans' cnuts.
