OH man, my favorite band of all time. I could write a massive post about Jeff Mangum because I am a squealing fanboy, but I won't, because I'm sure that'd be too painful for the rest of you.

Instead, I'll just say that these guys are geniuses who have become even more legendary since Mangum dropped off the face of the earth.

Im surprised to see so many people have never even heard Avery Island, as I have always preffered it to Aeroplane.

More approval from me. I remember thinking of Aeroplane as a bit of a letdown when it came out (I do love it, though). A lot of people seem to think of Aeroplane as one of the greatest indie-rock albums ever. I feel that way about On Avery Island.

now go listen to their demos, especially the hype city soundtrack. and the everything is e.p. and the gerbils, and a hawk and hacksaw, and the music tapes. oh especially the music tapes, and the olivia tremor control. soo gooood. anything NMH related is good.
