Have to say Guided By Voices. I'm really getting into them lately and they have songs that lodge themselves in your head for days. Really great band. And Pavement of course, can't forget them.

id go for deerhunter, cut copy, grand archives, arcade fire, noah and the whale, wolf parade, matt and kim, radiohead (maybe indie), etc...got so much ****

Yeah, especially since based on this thread we're talking indie music or lo fi indie (Radiohead and Arcade Fire aren't really lo fi...) but Camera Obscura is a good band, and while I didn't like Grizzly Bear at first, thanks to mb I found some really good songs I like a lot and have grown into them. Guided By Voices, Pavement, and Sebadoh, and the Unicorns are some really cool unique lo fi experimental pop type stuff. They're all bands you should at least listen to once.

i dont really like the term lo-fi in general anyways. for example, say guided by voices and the unicorns. those bands are soooooooooooo different.
