idlewild, killers, libertines, belle and sebastian, death cab for cutie.. depends what you classify as indie, it's such an unclear classification. general eclectic stuff like that.

Whoever said Bright Eyes and Belle and Sebastian are spot on!!!!

Bright eyes is lyrical and musical genius!!!

Cat Power also. Smiths were amazing. <orrissey still is, seen him 3 months ago!!

Seen Beastie boys and ..And you will know us by the trail of dead in the past week, and chatted to what turned out to be the beta band in a bar. Only the beta band are really indie out of those, but im still hyper from the gigs and well chuffed!!

Here is some good indie stuff:

Modest Mouse

Franz Ferdinand
The Killers
The Stills
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Interpol
The White Stripes

Those are pretty much my favorites.

^ great list except for the white stripes. not too much of a fan, but that topic's already been exhausted, so I won't get into that. I love modest mouse's earlier stuff, but I can't agree with the argument that they "sold out", they still make good music, so what does it matter that they changed labels. anyways, franz ferdinand is great, killers, great. Just started getting into interpol recently, they've got a unique sound, just stands out from other bands. I like the verve, but I'm not crazy about them, they have some great songs, don't get me wrong, but compared to a lot of other bands they're kind of bland and repetitive. yeah yeah yeah's are a great band, the still are good, but I haven't heard too much of their stuff, I've been meaning to check out their CD.

The crap britpop section, they used to almost be a rock band but no more since they started churning out things like 'Driftwood' on that second album of theirs, The Man Who i'm sure it was called. I'd much rather listen to U16 Girls and all their scratchy rock stuff

The thing I hate the most about Travis is they seem to write one decent song per album & the rest of it is crap.

Totally, and in some albums the one good track is their hidden track. The only song I really like by them is the hidden track in 'The Man Who'. Its like they have potential, but do everything they can to ignore it. They busked outside my street last month. I've heard better music coming from real street buskers to be honest.
